Trust Newsletter Summer Term 2017

Another successful year draws to a close. It is amazing how much has been achieved by the children, staff, parents and governors in one year. The achievements extend from the academic, to the sporting and the creative arts and to the numerous fun and fundraising exploits of every school in our Trust. We achieve so much because we work together as a team and this is one of the greatest strengths of the schools.

It is difficult to identify the highlights because there are genuinely so many. Personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all our Year 6 children growing and developing over the year. They start in September as children but by the time they leave in July they are young adults, ready for their next exciting journey. Year 6 sums up all that our Trust is about. The children have worked incredibly hard over the last year but also had a fantastic time. In addition to the SATs, the children have enjoyed school trips, productions, numerous sporting events and much, much more.

I hope they look back at the time at their school with fondness and perhaps return and regale us with their achievements. I am proud of them all and wish them good luck in the future. Whilst it is onwards and upwards for the Year 6 Classes of 2017, so it is also with the DLPT. We never stand still and we are always looking at how we can improve and 2017-18 will be no different. In fact it promises to be one of the most exciting years in our history. In September we will have two more schools joining us, Leverington and Murrow. They will be bringing their expertise and knowledge which will be shared throughout the Trust.

Remember, our aim is to benefit all children at the DLPT, now and in the future. As we enlarge our Trust we are constantly striving to provide the best opportunities and the best facilities and resources. If you have any ideas or can help in any way, please do let us know. Wishing you all a peaceful and relaxing summer break.
