Trust Newsletter Summer Term 2022

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to Mr Ball who will be retiring as a Trustee at the end of this school year.

Mr Ball is one of those people that you will not see, but who work tirelessly in the background to ensure that our vision for the children becomes a reality. He was Chair of Governors at Winhills Primary School in 2011 and was instrumental in forming our Trust in 2012 in the Queens Diamond Jubilee. One of the most modest and least self-serving men I have ever met, his infectious passion for doing what is right for our children has never changed. During his tenure we have achieved so much – grown to 14 schools, moved schools from Special Measures to Good, opened a new school.

He has worked tirelessly for the children in our Trust, giving up his free time to support our schools, and there is a generation of children who have benefitted from his ability to take bold steps for the benefit of all. We were able to go back to where it all began to celebrate his achievements together: Winhills now has a garden dedicated to Mr Ball which I know the children already love. Many thanks from all of us both past and present for all you have done.

I must also say goodbye and good luck to all the pupils we will miss you. I know you are all going to be amazing in your new schools. Hold your heads up high and be proud of yourselves for what you have achieved. Year 11, you are an exceptional group of young people, about to enter the big wide world of study and work – we know you will all succeed. Take advantage of every opportunity you get and give it your all.

Finally, can I wish you all a safe and happy summer break, you all deserve it. We have staff training days on 1st and 2nd September so will see you again on Monday 5th September 2022. Until then, on behalf of everyone at The Diamond Learning Partnership Trust, thank you for your continued support, positive feedback and kind messages.
